RELIEF SOCIETY

In commemoration of the organization of the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, our ward's Relief Society had a dinner and program. I was asked to be in the choir of the program (we all know I would never volunteer for such a thing). The program was a documentary type of presentation that depicted what happened when the Relief Society was organized by those women who were present. As a result, our outfits were pioneer outfits. A woman in my ward was kind enough to lend me an apron and bonnet for the program. When Mike found out what I had to wear he thought it was hilarious. He had to get a picture and would not let me leave the house without one. Since I was starving and really wanted to get to the dinner, I let him take a picture of me.

BIRTHDAY!

My birthday came and went once more. My family always jokes that my birthday is more of a military command than a date since it is March 4th (March forth). At least everyone remembers when it is! Growing up in Idaho meant that my birthday was always cold, slushy, and ugly as the snow melted to reveal the brown, muddy, dead vegetation beneath. Since moving to Arizona it has been quite pleasant. This year my birthday was warm and sunny. It even got up to 80 that day!

For dinner Mike made sandwiches and we had a picnic in the park nearby. We brought a kite since there was a breeze, but unfortunately this is as far off the ground that it got.

Later that night he made me a cake.

The next morning we hiked "A" Mountain - the "mountain" that the A for ASU is on. It only took about 10 minutes to hike up to but it was a good way to start the day. Whenever I make fun of the hills they call mountains here Mike replies, "Hey, don't knock it. It's all we got."
