SETTLING IN

We all love Maggie so much and everyone wants to hold her.  The older kids want to help with everything and want to watch everything that goes on with Maggie: diaper changes, bath, feedings, changing clothes, etc.  We're all getting used to the new routine (or lack of) with a newborn.

BLUE MAN

I left the kids to do some worksheets and practice tracing letters so that I could feed Maggie.  I guess Shane didn't understand that he was supposed to write on the paper, not on his face.  At least it was washable marker.  Maybe this is a sign he needs to join the Blue Man Group.

MAGGIE SMILES

Maggie has started smiling at 5 weeks old.  Of course the biggest smiles come when the camera is not around.  The only pictures I can get for now are more of a smirk but they are still cute.  We all try to get her to smile at us.  The older kids are really going to enjoy it when she starts laughing.

PICKING BLUEBERRIES

While Mike's parents were here we took a day trip to drive through the countryside.  We picked blueberries.  It was too hot so we only picked for a little bit.  Between us all we were able to get a bucket full.  Afterwards we went to the Amish furniture store to show Mike's parents the beautiful furniture.  They also have a deli inside so we ate lunch there.  It was fun to drive through the pretty countryside but I think it was a little too much for Maggie.  She was fussy and didn't sleep well that night.

MAGGIE'S BLESSING

Mike's parents flew out to be here for the blessing.  It was so fun to have them here.  Mike blessed Maggie with some wonderful things.  I am so grateful for the priesthood and for a worthy husband who uses it to bless our family.  I am also grateful that she didn't cry during the blessing so that we could hear it.  Alex and Shane love their little sister so much.  They each wanted a turn to hold her for the picture.
