WEDDING IN PORTLAND

Mike's brother, Tim, got married in Portland, Oregon.  We went and stayed with my Uncle Tom and Aunt Shirley.  It was very cold (to us), rainy, and windy.  The day after the wedding we went with the rest of Mike's family to the coast and to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.

VALENTINE'S DAY

This year for Valentine's Day I made Mike banana bread, which he loves, and he gave me tulips, which I love.  We enjoyed a romantic candle-light dinner with Alex featuring chicken cordon bleu.

ALEXANDRA AT 1 YEAR

Here are some pictures of Alex's 1 year photo shoot.  What a wonderful child!  I just love her and love having her a part of our family.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!

I cannot believe that Alex is 1 year old.  What a great 365 days with her!  For breakfast I made her waffles with strawberries.  We gave her some of her favorite foods for dinner: noodles, eggs, tomatoes, and apples.  We invited family over for cake and ice cream.  Alex enjoyed opening her presents and got to eat cake and ice cream for the first time.  She didn't know how to blow out the candle, but maybe next year.

DENVER

Alex and I flew to Denver to visit my sister and her family.  We spent a few days helping her paint before Mike joined us.  We stayed through the weekend which included watching the Super Bowl with them.  Alex had her first experience with snow and also with climbing up the stairs.  Luckily, she didn't have her first experience with falling down the stairs.  Unfortunately, she got a stomach bug Monday morning which meant she threw up 3 times on our flight home: all over her, all over me, all over the wall.  I feel bad for the people who had to sit in the seat after us...
