Maggie is at that stage where they are so mobile and fast and get into everything before you have time to realize where they are. We try to make a coral but she escapes. It is difficult to get anything done and the house looks like a tornado hit, but she sure is cute and enjoys herself.

KIDS AT WORK DAY
Mike's work did a "Bring your kid to work day." He decided to take Alex even though she was a little young (they recommended 8 and older). Alex loved it! They did a few activities and he took her to lunch. Part of the day Mike tried to get some work done and Alex just colored at his desk. They both enjoyed the time together.

EASTER
The day before Easter we went to the church and had an Easter egg hunt with some friends. We brought brunch food to share and played some games. It was a lot of fun. My kids loved all the eggs they got. Some people filled the plastic eggs with money instead of candy which I had never thought of. Neither Mike nor I like spiral ham. We decided to make pork a little differently this year - carnitas. They were absolutely delicious, and we all thoroughly enjoyed them.
Easter is always a humbling time for me to think of my Savior and all He did for me. This year Easter was the week of the one year anniversary of my dad passing away. I was emotional all week thinking of him and thinking of how grateful I am for the gospel. I know we will be together again. I know that if anything happens to Mike we will still be married. Jesus Christ really does take away the sting of death. I miss my father but knowing where he is and that we will see him again makes it so much easier to handle.

ALEX'S CONCERT
The kindergarten and first grade at Alex's school put on a concert. They sang all the songs they had been learning all year. It was absolutely adorable. Alex was so cute and sang so well.

APRIL FOOL
I like to play tricks on others but I don't like to be mean about it. As April Fool's Day approached I thought of various things I could do to Mike or the kids. I decided on food. I made a "dessert" dinner and a "dinner" dessert. Dinner was a meatloaf covered in mashed potatoes and topped with crouton crumbs that looked like a cake. Dessert was a cake that looked like a pizza. I used red frosting, coconut as cheese, fruit roll ups as pepperoni, Swedish fish as anchovies, bits of gummy bears as bell pepper, and pieces of chocolate graham cracker as black olives. When I first told the kids we were having cake for dinner they didn't believe me. When they saw the "cake" they really thought it was a cake. After digging in they realized what I had done and got a kick out of it.
