FIXING UP THE FAMILY ROOM

 After taking down all the drywall in the family room we had a lot of work to get it ready to drywall again.  We put in lights in the ceiling, re-did the electrical, got the wall ready for the tv, and replaced some of the 2x4 framing.  There was damage to some of the framing from a past leak.  While the ceiling was open we also put in some extra insulation.  We removed the cabinet in the corner and cut it in half.  I painted it and made a new top so that we had a place to put dvds and dvd player.

LAKE FUN

 We spent the day at the lake with our friends Nicole, Cielo, and Mia.  It was great weather and we had a lot of fun.

CAUGHT IN THE RAIN

 We wanted to go for a walk, but it was a little cloudy.  I looked at the weather and it said that it wasn't going to rain.  The weather report wasn't correct because halfway through the walk it started raining.  By the time we got back home we were quite wet but all smiles.

McKenzie has been taking a few steps and just started walking across the room.  She is so proud of herself. 

DEMO DAY

With all of my major projects done I decided to get things rolling on the family room.  I took down all of the drywall and pulled all the nails out.  I wanted to get it ready so that we could start doing electrical and getting quotes for drywall installation.  

SHANE'S COCOON

Shane figured out how to spin over and over in the hammock.  He winds himself up like a cocoon and then quickly unwinds back down.  He is very proud of his accomplishment.

4TH OF JULY

July 4th was so fun this year!  In the morning we went blueberry picking.  We ate lunch at the restaurant they have at the blueberry field.  Of course we had to buy new blueberry plants as well.  On the way home we stopped and bought some fireworks for later.  We had a yummy dinner and I made a patriotic parfait for dessert.  After dinner we invited a few neighbors over and set off some small fireworks.  It was so fun to visit with neighbors and watch the kids doing sparklers.  They loved the fireworks!  We all had a great time.  McKenzie was only scared of the big loud fireworks but liked watching the little ones go off.
