PLAYFUL BRIDGET

Bridget loves to play and be silly.  She recently figured out that she fits in the media cabinet.

THANKSGIVING

I was starting to get pretty sick by the time Thanksgiving rolled around, so I wasn't much help with the food.  I was able to coach Alex and she made quite a bit of food.  We invited a friend from the branch, Ervin, to come for dinner.

SALTS VISIT

The Salts came to visit for a few days.  The BYU football team was playing in Cincinnati so Mike took the older kids and I stayed home with Hattie and the little girls.  I wanted to go, but I am starting to feel sick from my pregnancy and thought it would be too much.  The BYU game was in the evening and OSU had a noon game, so Mike and Matt got some last minute cheap tickets and went to the OSU game as well.  Both of them were excited to check visiting The Shoe off their list and be able to go to 2 football games in a day.  Aside from football, we played games, went to the Giving Machine, and went to the canopy park.  It was so fun to have them visit for a few days.

They were in a picture on social media

SHANE TURNS 11

It's hard to believe that Shane is already 11 years old.  What's even harder to believe, he will be a deacon in a little over a month.  He is such a good kid and fun to have around (when he's not pestering his sisters). He was very happy on his birthday and loved everything.

Randomly, while singing "Happy birthday" the lighter caught on fire

SPEED KICK FUNDRAISER

Shane and Maggie had a fundraiser at their school.  It was a speed kick where they kicked a ball into a net and the speed is measured.  People can donate a set amount or a per mph amount.  If enough people donate, they get prizes.  Shane and Maggie had very generous family members who helped them reach the point of getting prizes.  They had fun with the whole experience.

BABY #6 SCARE

Since I had a molar pregnancy 9 years ago, I am usually scheduled for an ultrasound at 6 weeks or so to make sure I don't have a repeat.  At my first ultrasound today we were relieved to see the heartbeat and hear it.  However, the doctor said that right now the baby is abnormally low.  If it stays low in the uterus it could cause problems in the future.  It is likely that it will move up and be in a safe spot, but he recommended weekly ultrasounds for the first trimester to monitor the baby.  After that we'll know better the situation and can make better decisions.

CURLY HAIR

Alex wrapped Maggie's and McKenzie's hair in curlers to use over night.  In the morning, McKenzie had wavy hair that didn't last.  On the other hand, Maggie had ringlets that lasted all day.  They were both very cute and loved the curly hair.

GIANT WORM

The cold weather is coming and the vegetable garden is dying.  It was time to clear it out for winter.  While pulling all the plants and weeds, Shane found a giant worm.  Hopefully there are more in the garden area to help our garden next year.

BUEN GAUCHO

Shane got the Buen Gaucho award again.  We are so proud of him.  He is such a good boy.

BABY #6

A year and a half ago I received a very strong impression that we needed to have another baby.  I told Mike and for several months we prayed, fasted, and went to the temple to make sure that it was right.  We felt that it was right and started trying for another baby.  Month after month, nothing.  It never took me longer than a few months to get pregnant.  After 6 months I visited my OB and she prescribed me some medicine.  I took it for 3 months and still nothing.  She changed it to another medicine.  She told me that if I'm not pregnant in 3 more months to come back and we can talk about other options.  Two more months and still nothing.  Finally, the last month I was pregnant.  I even took 2 pregnancy tests on 2 different days just to make sure.  Mike and I are excited and scared at the same time.

CSIA GLOW RUN

For several years now, CSIA has done a glow run.  The kids run around the bus loop and get a glow bracelet for each lap.  After 15 laps they can turn in their bracelets for a wand or other prize.  There is music and it is fun to get out and exercise.
