FIRST FISH

Mike was bound and determined to catch a fish.  He has been trying different spots around the area.  Today he tried a spot he had never tried before.  Success!  He caught his first fish in Ohio.

NEW GLASSES

Almost a year to the day Alex's glasses broke.  Luckily, eye doctors are now opening up so we were able to get Alex in for the eye exam that was cancelled last month.  As is to be expected from a growing child, her eyes have changed and so has her prescription.  Alex was so excited to pick out new glasses.  They mailed them right to the house.  Alex wanted to do a video chat with her grandparents to show them her new glasses, case, and cleaning cloth.

SHAVING

Maggie found the tongue scraper and started using it like a razor to shave her face.  Mike got some shaving cream and taught her how to do it.  We all got a kick out of watching her.

SUMMER BREAK BEGINS

Summer break is officially here.  We went to the school to pick up Alex's end of school year papers.  The weather has been hot so the kids have enjoyed popsicles and playing in the sprinkler.

CLASS PARTY

To end the school year Alex's class had a virtual video party.  They dressed up in costumes and had a snack.  Alex wanted crazy hair as well.  She has loved the periodic video chats with her class during the past few months.

MEMORIAL DAY FISHING

Over Memorial Day weekend Mike took Alex and Shane fishing.  They went a couple of times but didn't catch anything.  Mike has yet to catch any fish in Ohio.  He's beginning to wonder if there are any fish here.

FIELD DAY

Since schools were closed and everything was done at home, the P.E. teacher sent out a list of several Field Day type activities for the kids to do.  Alex and Shane had fun doing a handful of them.  Even Maggie attempted a few of them.

MOTHER'S DAY

Mother's Day was so wonderful.  Mike did all the meals and they were delicious.  He even kicked me out of the kitchen and did all the dishes.  The kids were happy and played well all day.  I was able to relax, read, talk to my mom, and enjoy the carefree day.  The kids made me sweet pictures and Mike bought me flowers.  I loved the day!

I taught the kids a new (to them) primary song and took a video of them singing it.  I sent it to their grandmas and great-grandma.  Not bad for learning the song today.

SPRING IS HERE...KIND OF

The weather for the last month has been a roller coaster of really warm, sunny days and cold, rainy days.  We finally had a warm Saturday and took the advantage of a nice day to get out.  We went to a nearby park and went for a bike ride.  Shane is still wobbly but he did a good job.  We all enjoyed the fresh, warm air.  Alex was excited to try out her new bike.
