BOOK OF MORMON PARTY

 In the fall of 2017 we started reading the Book of Mormon with the kids at night.  We read just one verse each, helping the kids until they could read alone.  We read 4 verses at a time, and then later 5 when Maggie was old enough.  We tried to read every night and even took the book with us on vacation to read away from home.  Today, after five and a half years, we finally finished the Book of Mormon!  I got several kinds of ice cream and several toppings, and we had a major ice cream sundae party to celebrate.  What's an ice cream party without playing with the whipped cream?  Mike flipped the whipped cream into Alex and Shane's mouths and didn't exactly get it all in.  It was a fun time to celebrate our achievement.

FIESTA DE LA RAMA

 Our branch had a party to celebrate El Dia de los Amores y Amistades.  There were several games and good food.  Alex and Shane participated in a relay type game.  Two teams raced through a relay where each person had a silly task to do.  Both Alex and Shane did the task that required them to dig in flour for a stick of gum without using their hands.  They got covered in flour but were all smiles afterwards.

OHIO STATEHOUSE

 The school district offers several activities to families throughout the year.  We took advantage of their day at the Ohio Statehouse.  It was fun to tour around where state leaders make legislation and to learn about Ohio legislative history.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

 Shane did a report on Martin Luther King Jr for his class.  He had to make a poster and present it to the class.  He also was encouraged to dress like the person he studied.

ALEX TURNS 10

 Alex has jumped to double digits.  I cannot believe that it has been a decade since she was born!  I have loved being her mom and having her as a daughter.  Because she had school we weren't able to do too much that day.  I made her a special breakfast, dinner, and cake.  She opened presents after school.  I appreciate being able to celebrate Alex and show her how much we love her.

ALEX'S CHOIR CONCERT

 Alex has been practicing in a choir at school for the last few months.  This afternoon she had her first concert during the last part of school.  She loved dressing up and singing.  We loved being able to go and support her.

ALEX'S EAR PIERCING

 For her 10th birthday we let Alex get her ears pierced.  She was very excited.  She loves having a new accessory.
