SNOW STORM

 A huge winter storm came through Columbus.  We got a foot of snow and had freezing temperatures.  Church was canceled, and there was a snow emergency level 3 issued for Columbus for the first time.  Monday, school was canceled for the kids and me.  The day after it snowed the temps weren't too bad that the kids wanted to brave the cold and play in the snow.  They lasted about an hour and had fun playing around in the back yard with the neighbors.  The kids ended up having the whole week off of school.  They managed to stay busy reading, playing games, building forts, watching movies, and even a trip to the temple to do baptisms for Alex and Shane.

TOOTH EXTRACTION FAIL

 Shane tried to use a Nerf gun to remove a loose tooth.  It didn't work.  He ended up just pulling it out with his fingers later.

SHANE IS A DEACON

 I cannot believe that my little Shane is now an ordained deacon.  Babba and Nanna stayed after Christmas so they could be here for the ordination.  Mike was able to ordain him at home on January 1st.  The next day we went to the temple to do baptisms.  Babba baptized the kids and Mike confirmed them.  Unfortunately, the heater in the font was broken so the water was 70' instead of 95'.  It was quite comical to watch all the kids go into the water and gasp since it was so cold.  Even though it wasn't ideal, Shane loved the experience and can't wait to go again.
