Maggie was fussing and I wasn't able to get to her right away. Alex grabbed a book and started "reading" to her. She calmed down and listened to Alex. I am so grateful for Alex's willingness and ability to help.

FATHER'S DAY
The day before Father's Day our branch had a pot luck at the park. Mike went early to help set up and took the kids. My mom and I showed up as they were eating. We didn't stay long because Maggie was getting hungry and I needed to feed her. Sunday I made all of Mike's requested meals: biscuits and gravy for breakfast, ribs for lunch/dinner, and camp bar cookies for dessert. I made (in advance) a picture for him with pictures of him with his kids. I also bought him some new cuff links with the Diamondbacks logo on them.

ZOO
My mom was visiting for a couple weeks, and we wanted to do something fun with her. I was also getting cabin fever after being cooped up in the house with a new baby, so we decided to go to the zoo. It was warm but not unbearable. We all had a great time.

INDOOR CAMPING
Mike promised the kids he would take them camping after the baby was born. However, due to all the rain we improvised. We set the tent up in the sun room.
The kids wanted another camp out later so we put a smaller tent in the sun room again. They were able to play in it for days and had a ball.

RAIN RAIN
The kids love playing in the rain.
We tried having a BBQ but a few minutes after getting to the park it started to pour. We all got soaked and ended up going home and having an indoor BBQ.

MAGGIE'S BIRTH
My c-section was scheduled for June 1st at 9:30 am. Two days before Sharon and Scarlett Jarvis came to help with my kids while I was in the hospital. The day before we went to the zoo and had loads of fun. That night I was very sore. The morning of the c-section I woke up at 3 am with contractions. They were fairly regular but only every 20-30 minutes so I didn't wake up Mike. I didn't feel like we needed to go to the hospital early. Finally around 6 I got up and showered. I woke up Mike around 6:30 and told him I was having contractions. He was a little alarmed but I assured him we weren't in a hurry. I made him breakfast and packed food for him for the hospital. We got to the hospital just before 8 am. It was the normal prep for c-section. Finally at 10:33 am we met our precious little girl. She weighed 9# 14oz and was 20.5 inches long. She had light brown hair with some highlights in the back. She was perfect. We decided to name her Margaret Ruth. The kids visited us in the hospital and loved playing in the room, maybe a little too much. We didn't have any complications, thankfully, and were only in the hospital for two days. Maggie is such a good baby. We are so grateful to have her as part of our family.
