The most efficient and fun way to husk the corn is to climb on the fence and throw it directly into the compost.

LOVE THE LIBRARY
While Mimi was here we went to the library. The kids love playing with the toys, but they also love bringing home several new books to read.

SCENIC DRIVE WITH MIMI
While Mimi was here we took a day trip and did a loop we like to do in the summer. We started by going to the Blueberry Patch to pick blueberries and eat their yummy blueberry donuts. Then we went to Honey Run Park to play in the water and waterfall. Mimi loved the scenery and seeing some of the fun things we do in the summer. Who can resist beautiful Ohio scenery, yummy blueberry donuts, and some cool water on your feet on a hot summer day.

PARK WITH MIMI
Mimi came to visit for a week. The first day we walked to a nearby park to play for a bit before it got too hot. That day was also Pioneer Day when we celebrate the pioneers entering the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. We were going to roast hot dogs outside and have a pioneer meal, but it was too hot so we just cooked and ate them inside. We also watched a pioneer movie. Mimi loved it because she hadn't celebrated Pioneer Day in a long time. She was grateful to remember and celebrate the day with us.

PAINTING THE HOUSE
I took on the tremendous job of painting the outside of the house. Alex helped a little with the painting, but she mainly was a HUGE help with the kids while I painted. Most days the kids would play outside while I painted and kept an ear on them. Some days I painted a couple of hours and other days it was all day. It took me about a month. The house looks so different and so much better. I am so proud of my accomplishment!

LOVE NOTE
We rented a power washer to wash the outside of the house, the driveway, sidewalk, and patio. Mike left me a love note. He cleaned it all off after I got a picture.

JULY 4TH
We did the traditional July 4th activities: blueberry picking, family time, yummy food, and fireworks. Everyone had a good time. Another year of Independence Day celebrations in the books.

SLEEPY BRIDGET
Bridget is transitioning out of naps. Today I found her asleep on Shane in the hammock. He did not mind at all. I can't blame him. Alex was certainly jealous of the cuddle time and wanted to try to switch places with Shane for a turn.

MAGGIE LOSES ANOTHER TOOTH
An hour or so after the kids went to bed, Maggie comes downstairs. She had pulled out her tooth and wanted to show us. I am proud to say that the tooth fairy did not forget to visit that night.
FORT NIGHT
Alex and Shane made a fort under Shane's bed. At bedtime they wanted to sleep in the fort. The little girls wanted to as well, so I got a sheet and some clamps and made them a fort as well. They were all excited to be sleeping in a fort.
