TAKE YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY

 Nationwide does an annual "Take your child to work" day.  They have various activities and free gifts and the kids get to see where their parents work.  Mike took Shane and Alex and they had a really fun time.

KENZIE'S 3RD BIRTHDAY

 Kenzie has turned 3!  She was so happy all day and loved all the attention.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

 I love spring! I love having a yard where I can plant pretty flowers.  I love planting bulbs in the fall and then having beautiful flowers in the spring. Bridget also likes spring.

SOLAR ECLIPSE

 There was a total solar eclipse that passed right by Columbus.  We drove out of town a bit to make sure we were right in the middle of the eclipse.  It was the coolest experience ever!  We went to a random park in the middle of nowhere and met up with our friends, the Skousens.  We got special eclipse glasses so we could look directly at the sun.  Mike also found instructions on how to make solar eclipse boxes.  You can see the shadow instead of looking directly at the sun.

CONFERENCE SNACKS

 I try to make General Conference fun and something the kids look forward to.  A few years ago I found a conference trail mix recipe.  Each of the items you use represent a gospel item.  Over the years I have expanded it to include other items.  The kids love picking out new foods or thinking of various ways a food could fit.  For example, a marshmallow could represent the Holy Ghost, white temple/baptismal clothes, or cleanliness after repentance.  I, of course, make cinnamon rolls as well but didn't get a picture this year.

ALEX GETS BRACES

 We have officially reached the stage of braces.  Today Alex got her braces on and will have them for about a year and a half.
